Music Monday

Watch this Korean kid fingertap Bach's prelude and fugue #2 in C minor on two electric guitars...

Odd, I didn't realize that guitars work that way, that placing the finger on a position would cause sound, I thought a pluck or strum was necessary. maybe electric guitars are different.

not that I know of....actually, I was wondering that too. maybe his plucking is jst really really the way, Bach sounds awesome on electric guitar. but then I guess everything does.

This is a technique called 'fingertapping'. I am surprised you guys don't know about it. Eddie Van Halen made it hugely popular in the early eighties...

The electric guitar is very sensitive and will generate a sound from someone forcefully tapping the string just behind the fret. You don't need to pluck to play a note.
