Death - who needs ceremony?

Public execution of WWII traitors in 1946.

Well, that was refreshingly grim.

I can only imagine the trail that lead you to that clip.

Actually, the previous video in the trail was a interview with Brezhnev's daughter who went from being the most eligible woman in Eastern Europe to a falling down drunk alcoholic. She was completely wasted during the interview and died before the film was completed.

The definition of traitor to the Soviet Union was more along the lines of anyone no longer convenient to whoever was in power or was on the verge of taking power. So I give scant attention to the excuse for killing people as a spectacle which is what it was.

I used to visit in its heyday and similar sites to see the slimy underside of humanity and what I saw... not sure how I managed to slide out of that darkness into this path after that. It takes something out of you...

You are certainly not incorrect about traitors in the xUSSR.

This is perhaps the greatest "communist" clip ever:

Don't thank me, I'm a giver.
