Cantor vs Cantor
Cantor Israel Rand is suspected of sending a woman to entrap the cantor of Jerusalem's Great Synagogue, Naftali Hershtik, in an attempt to have him removed from his job.
According to the suspicions, Rand recruited the young woman and recorded an intimate meeting between her and the married Hershtik in a Tel Aviv hotel room. Rand then sent pictures of the two along with an anonymous letter demanding Hershtik be fired.

Wow. The morals of a pimp and the manners of a dancing master.
At least the victim had healthy appetites - a young woman (with acting talent!) who jumped all over him like fire-ants on a cadaver, instead of a hesitant and timorous altar boy being threatened with helfire and damnation.
I guess Naftali Hershtik can still go into opera - unless he brays like an ass instead of singing like a canary.
I wish someone would try that with a Godol. Now that would be interesting.
